Cutting through the heart of the East Troublesome Fire, Stillwater Pass is an easily accessible route that connects Grand Lake to Highway 125. This road is extremely popular for dispersed camping and OHV riding as it treks northwest between Gravel Mountain and Porphyry Peaks, rewarding users with astonishing views of Lake Granby. The entire drive will leave you gazing upon a sea of wildflowers and young aspen trees within the 193,000 acres of charred pine forest

Fire destroyed all of scenery. Still enjoyed getting the bronco out. Lost lake was nice

Ran the entire trail out and back. Very easy route. The off-shoot routes are much more fun, but they are closed. Alternative trails include 120 which is open as well as some of the side routes off that trail. We had a good time doing all those and are easy as well. Be sure to check the NFS sire for closures in the area. Overall a great time.

I was in the area for another trail when I found the entry to Stillwater. I entered the trail reversed from the guide. Around waypoint 25, there is a sign warning you of the road closure about 5.5 miles away. Up until the actual closure, there are numerous campsites filled with campers during my visit. There is a gate that is closed at the actual closure point near waypoint 20, and that was as far as I was able to drive on Stillwater Pass.

Ran up Stillwater on Friday 7/14, to see if it was still closed. I can confirm that it is still closed because the road is totally washed out. The washout is around waypoint 5. By the looks of it, it will be closed for a while. A lot of work is going to be needed to get it open again. Even though it was a short run, it was worth it to see all the wildflowers in the burn area.
