Baker Lake is a short out-and-back spur off Wahl. The road surface is hard-packed dirt with a couple of large whoopsie-doos near the end. It could be muddy in Spring or after a hard rain. The trail ends at a private gate well before reaching the lake, but there is a great spot for a photo op at the turn-around with the grassy meadow in the foreground and the mountains behind. It is especially beautiful in the Fall when the aspen are turning. Although dispersed camping is technically legal along the trail, there are no suitable sites.
