Trough Road, at just over 24 miles long, is an excellent road for traveling the Colorado backcountry. It provides incredible views of the Colorado River while passing through ranch and BLM-managed land. The road surface is hard-packed dirt and extremely wide for 95% of it. The 5% that is not wide is a short portion of shelf road that is paved and protected by a guard rail. Beware of large oncoming cattle trucks. No camping opportunities.
