Wanna get away? Blue Mountain is a true hidden gem for camping and easy trails close to Colorado Springs. A bolete (pronounced "bow-leet") is an edible mushroom common to the area. Boletes (a.k.a. Blue Bird Mine Road), west of Blue Mountain, is one of the very few mining roads in an area that was dominated by cattle ranching in the late 1800s. The trail features some excellent, trailer-accessible, dispersed campsites open year-round.
