Overview

If you are searching for the most incredible camping on the Western Slope of the Rocky Mountains, you can't go wrong choosing Pinnacle Road. This short trail provides the shade of tall pines, fire rings, and numerous camping spots and sits right on the bank of the Middle Fork of the Cimarron River. Since this is off the beaten path, you might even be lucky enough to have this area all to yourself. If not, the campsites are separated enough to give you a modicum of privacy. Throw up your tent or adventure trailer, start your campfire, and put your feet in the river. This location is an idyllic spot that is not hard to get to at all.
