Slide Lake

Slide Lake is a beautiful Alpine Lake situated at 11,740' in elevation. The Slide Lake 4x4 Trail takes you within a short .4 mile hike to reach the western edge of, you guessed it, Slide Lake. The area is flanked on the Southwest by Homestake Peak (13,215'), and half of the lake is part of the Holy Cross Wilderness Area. It cuts through thick lodgepole pine forests before opening up and winding through small open meadows and larger evergreens. Slide Lake and the surrounding area are​ popular among hikers, anglers, offroaders, and those looking to seek Wilderness Areas' solitude.
