Located west of Fort Collins along the Crown Point Road (USFS 139), Salt Cabin Park Road is an easy mountain road that offers plenty of dispersed camping opportunities that are off the beaten path. Near the Poudre River and the Comanche Peak Wilderness area, Salt Cabin Park Road is popular with hunters setting up a base camp for the harvest season. If you are feeling like a healthy hike is in you, a B-17 WWII bomber crash site lies in the backcountry east of Crown Peak, several miles south of Salt Cabin Park.
