Lower Yankee West

Lower Yankee West is a fun, little side trip off of the Yankee Hill 4x4 trail near St. Mary's, Colorado. As you make the steep, narrow descent you can imagine the miners taking their ore wagons down the treacherous slope from the mines on Yankee Hill to the mill in St. Mary's. Occasional breaks in the trees treat you to magnificent views of St. Mary's Glacier and Kingston Peak.
