Tames Creek is a moderate 4WD trail that is part of a loop along with the easier Power Road and similarly moderate Beard Creek. Tames Creek differs from the other two in traversing some extremely tight and overgrown aspen groves. The trail is seldom traveled, so bring a saw and keep a keen eye on the GPX track to avoid driving off into the woods. Full-size vehicles can expect pinstriping and a few multi-point turns to navigate around the trees. The western end has a couple of surprisingly steep and loose climbs that require a traction device or a lot of momentum.
