A short spur off of the Alta Lakes trail with a fantastic view at the end, this trail leads to the small alpine lake that feeds the Gold Creek above the treeline. At the lake, you'll see remaining mining structures, an abundance of wildflowers, and a beautiful view down the valley. There are a couple of dispersed campsites. However, you are exposed to the elements above the tree line, so camp with caution. The large boulders framing the road before the lake could pose an issue for extremely wide vehicles.
