Knob Hill, also known as Cliffhanger, is a short, dead-end spur road off the Switzerland North Trail. Right away, it begins climbing sharply up a steep hill with a relentless onslaught of large rocks and small boulders. There are two different paths up the hill, neither of which is easier than the other. Once at the top, you have a 360-degree view of the area looking down towards Lefthand Canyon, Gold Hill Road and the Continental Divide. 4-Wheel drive, good ground clearance, and aggressive tires are a must along this road. Traction devices could prove helpful.
Dispersed camping is allowed along the entire route, but the only notable spot is at the large turnaround at the end, where you could fit several vehicles.
