The North Fork Clear Creek Trail begins at the old mining town of Winfield. The trail follows the valley west towards La Plata Peak (14, 372) and is just over 2 miles long. The trail ends at the North Fork Clear Creek hiking trailhead and parking area. The road surface is mostly dirt with some muddy sections. The trail is suitable for stock 4x4 vehicles. There are many spacious campsites along the trail. Hikers sometimes use this route to access the south La Plata Peak summit trail.
