Part of the famed "Kokopelli Route," this section is very easy as most of the road is graded. Starting from US 50, you are on the north side of I-70, where the road eventually turns south and travels under the highway. As the road turns west, you finally lose sight of the highway and work your way into the Rabbitt Valley area, where it will connect with Kokopelli Road. You can turn north to reach I-70 or continue for more adventure where it meets Kokopelli Road. Most of the route follows open grassy areas, with the springtime offering a healthy amount of green to look at. There is no dispersed camping - it is all designated and is currently free until 2023.
