Hero: Blue Ridge (Williams Peak)
small-sr Icon
Blue Ridge 4WD road offers impressive views of Grand and Summit Counties as it follows the county line past Williams Peak. From the overlook, you can see Green Mountain Reservoir, Eagles Nest Wilderness Area, and, off in the distance Dillon Reservoir. Blue Ridge is generally a pretty mild trail. However, you may encounter remaining snow drifts up until the end of June. It is closed from 11/15 to 6/15 every year, regardless of conditions. Portions of this trail are very narrow, with no room to pass for extended periods. Full-size rigs may struggle to avoid overhanging branches and dead-fall on the road.
