The main attraction for York Gulch is not the road, since it’s graded gravel, but the destination. The road is a main entry point into the Yankee Hill network of trails. It begins on Fall River Road, north and west of Idaho Springs, and ends at a 4-way intersection with Yankee Hill, Hamlin Gulch, and Bald Mountain Lane. Along the way, it passes through several residential areas with pretty cabins and impressive houses and provides nice views to the north near the top. There is no camping along York Gulch since it passes almost entirely through private property, but there is plenty of camping elsewhere in the Yankee Hill network.
