Frey Gulch is an easy dirt trail with nice views and some camping opportunities between Dillon and Keystone. The trail is drivable with most AWD SUVs, with some small ruts and bumps being the only obstacles.
To reach the trailhead, travel north on Landfill Road. When you reach the weigh station for the landfill, go around to the right. Past the scales, the road winds around to the right, and the trailhead is at the gate just past the gun range. This trail is closed from November 23 - June 30 to prevent wildlife disturbance.
The trail official ends for motorized use at the trailhead for the Pah Qwun hiking trail, even though it appears to continue for another 1/3 mile where there is a gate.
This trail leads to trailheads for several motorcycle and ATV trails.
There is no camping for the first 3/4 mile. Then there are several dispersed campsites. There are many signs prohibiting campfires in the area.
