FSR 285A Green Mountain leads to an imposing wooden fire lookout tower on its summit. Green Mountain is a rougher trail than its access road Elk Mountain Road, it is doable with high clearance vehicles, and the views are worth it! Unlike most of this area, Green Mountain has not burned and offers stunning vistas. If you look carefully, you can spot another iconic lookout, Burnt Knob, in the distance. The tower is only used for emergency detection. You can camp at the lookout site.
