The scenic Bullfrog Notam Road crosses through Capitol Reef National Park following the Waterpocket Fold in the shadow of the Henry Mountains to the little hamlet of Bullfrog on the shores of Lake Powell. The historic Burr Trail splits off to the west at the midpoint of the road. There's plenty of camping available along Henry Mountains Road or at Cedar Mesa Campground in Capitol Reef. The road near Bullfrog is paved, though the dirt sections are a lot smoother. Utah operates a ferry across Lake Powell at Bullfrog. The next closest crossing of the Colorado River is at Hite. Who doesn't want to put their vehicle on a ferry boat in the middle of a desert?
