CCC Road is a maintained road within Rensselaerville State Forest. A "CCC" Road is short for Civilian Conservation Corps, a historic voluntary government work program that improved public lands. This road starts as a rough dirt trail with some steep sections but eventually becomes a maintained road as you approach the top. There are several opportunities for camping along this trail and lots of opportunities to explore the side roads. You could spend an entire day out here as there are a lot of legal, un-named spur roads that jut out in every direction. Any 2WD/AWD vehicle can complete this road, but you might want to have a 4WD vehicle with a transfer case when exploring the side trails.
