Three Runs Tower Road runs from within the Quehanna Wild Area south through Moshannon State Forest before ending just off Jim L Road. About a mile from the northern trailhead, you'll find the site of a historic old fire lookout. Currently, only the stone foundation and rubble remain. The Quehanna Trail also intersects there. The Moderate rating for this route is due to the three mud holes located at the southernmost end of the trail, the largest is pictured, and none of them has a bypass. This trail was stunning in the autumn with the vibrant reds from the lower shrubs. There is no camping available along this route.
