Welcome to the first road built over the Cascade Range! Barlow Road is the Mount Hood section of the Historic Oregon Trail. It is an out-and-back trail (until further notice) due to a collapsed bridge. The remaining bridges have a weight limit of 3 tons to be aware of before your adventure begins here. A moderately challenging route, this rutted two-track crosses shallow water in several places as it traverses heavy woods and green meadows. Be prepared to do a little trail maintenance for the occasional fallen tree. Camping is available along this trail. Both fee and free, you get to choose. A fantastic way to experience a bit of living history traveling along this pioneer trail.
