Sandtown Road (Country 1140) is the western portion of what the Michigan DNR calls the A Route. The A Route travels from this point east to De Tour on the eastern limit of the Penninsula. This scout guide includes all of the road, but the turn-off to continue the A Route is only a 1/4 way in. Very much a washboard road with potholes formed into hard-packed sand. No camping.
