Overview

As the name North Fork Ridge implies, this trail follows a north/south ridge separating the Payette River Canyon to the east and High Valley to the west. The trail favors the east side of the ridge, offering you gorgeous views through the pines and cedars into the canyon and river below. There is a dispersed campsite along this trail to stop for a picnic or spend the night. This ridgeline favors wildlife, where you can observe every big game that Idaho offers. You can see bear, mountain lion, deer, and elk. Your best results would be at dawn and dusk. The highlight here is to enjoy the natural beauty this forest and trail have to offer.
