Happy Valley Road passes the historic movie town of Mescal while cutting through lush riparian areas and flat grasslands of the area's ranches. Along the way are some fantastic dispersed campsites. Several camping spots could support a travel trailer and many more are good for tents. Keep an eye out for a secret waterfall. It's really impressive during the monsoons and spring snowmelt. Here's a little hint. It's visible from the road.
Depending on the time of year that you traverse Happy Valley, the crossings at Ash Creek will be deep sand or one to two feet of water. Winter is the perfect time to visit the area. The Gambel oaks still have their leaves. There's water and the temperatures are great. Come check to Happy Valley
